According to the last news, US troops getting close to Ukraine. In the international arena, everybody was expecting an attack from the West side of the world. And The United States, press the button. Confirming to the BBC, “Some 2,000 NATO troops will be sent from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Poland and Germany, and a further 1,000 already in Germany will go to Romania.”
That move can result in an international crisis. Putin, president of Russia, said, these acts can lead a war. And Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that “Not substantiated by anyone, destructive steps which increase military tension and reduce the scope for political decisions,”
Russia looks like wants to be in the picture of leadership again. And their last actions, (Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan movements) are proving this idea. Russia doesn’t want to be adjacent to NATO. They openly revealed that. But as everybody knows, Ukraine has a constitutional republic. In 1991, Ukraine declared from the Soviet Union with an independence referendum. As seen, Russia wants to get seize control in areas before the Soviet Union separated.
This tension can change the balance in the world if this diplomacy crisis turns into a war or a cold war. Last two years, the world try to defend itself from the economic recession. If that war will happen, the economy can take a huge scar, and the rest of the world is faced with poverty. Cause this war, as everyone estimates, can lead to the third world war.
But, Turkey is able to find another way between US and Russia. Turkey has a relationship with Russia and otherwise Turkey is a NATO country. If diplomacy way can use cleverly, the crisis ought to calm down. Because we have one world, and another world war should be destructive for all lives.
It can also turn into an international energy crisis. Russia and Germany have a strong relationship, including natural gas, petrol, and other energy sources. Turkey is an alternative to Ukraine for transportation to natural gas. Turk Akım project is a way of this transportation. So, Turkey should be the key to this crisis. Turkey has two different legs: energy web and diplomacy. By using diplomacy, energy sources can reminder to two sides. Maybe they already think about it but using diplomacy and finding balance is not the same thing as thinking and taking risks like endangering the rest of the world.
